In answer to how are things with the car?
The car is good. We get to keep it. It is being fixed. The insurance company has decided that the accident is not our fault so we are not going to have to pay the $500 deductible. If they had said it was our fault we really would have been calling a lawyer.
So all in all things with the car are good, so far.
It will take 2-3 weeks to fix it, and the insurance company will only pay for our car until the 14th of December after that we'll have to pay for it ourselves. I think we should be able to keep the car until our car is fixed and we'll probably be battling the insurance company over this next week.
The saga continues....

So is the other guys insurance paying at this point? If so I am sure you can easily get your rental car paid for because they would rather that than have you sue them for more $$
Problem is that the other guys insurance is State Farm too. So they're stingy all the way around.
I wonder how much you would have to pay to have an attorney type up a letter. That's crappy how they can screw the customer if both customers have the same insurance!
