holy cow
i was so excited when i took this photo. you can't tell but Anon had actually rushed the field. that's Right, he lept from the upper deck. Then ran down the stairs on to the field. I am soory, eh(Canadian for sorry) the picture didn't turn out. We were there for the first ever call change in AFL history. (pause for dramatic silence.) The coach for Colorado didn't like a call, so he challenged it. That meet he got his touch down. The Blazed played like Jr pee wee players, and lost the game. It was still a good time.

Book Review
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
by C.S. Lewis
This book was great. Again, I am pleased with C.S. Lewis' lack of description allowing the reader to imagine the world for themselves and not bogging down a wonderful story in a 400 page book.
The book isn't such a high adventure as the movie made it out to be. There was less battling and more hanging out with Aslan.
I was impressed by the fact that all the children were able to see Aslan in the beginning, but they had to learn to trust Lucy and follow him for a while before he showed himself to
Movie Quote for the day:
Tony: So who's in this Pentavirate?
Stuart: The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went tits up. Oh, I hated the Colonel with is wee *beady* eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!"
Charlie: Dad, how can you hate "The Colonel"?
Stuart: Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes ya crave it fortnightly, smartass!

Wow - What a trial.
Wow! I wrote something!
Last of all I heard from a old friend again. I owe him a apology. I am sorry I got so upset with him. Our last meeting, not this last one, but a while ago up set me. Which was my problem. He has no idea how much he taught me, just by being him. He really is a great person, and I apologize again. Lots of other things happened, but I can't remember. That means I am going to stop. I know hold the applause. Here is a thought I am going to leave you with. "The noblest service comes from nameless hands, and the best servant does his work unseen." Oliver Wendell Holmes.

and people wonder why clowns are so frightening....
And the weakest always preys upon the one who's underneath
I'm the one who doesn't see the waves of human kindness
I'm the one who always turns and looks away
Turns and looks away
Because after all, we are only boys
Because after all, we are only boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
I'm the one treads upon the weaker ones
Those that I can find
And there'll always be some others who could march along in line, yeah
March along in line
And, we'll move upon the world in a massive tidal wave
And we'll shout and make some noise, yeah
Shout and make some noise
Because after all, we are only boys
Because after all, we are only boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
The clowns of death are marching on their hideous parade
Their glaring eyes are filled with hate, but I am not afraid
Their painted faces cracked with age, their makeup old and worn
With tattered wings and toothy grins to amplify their scorn
They're looking for the helpless ones
They're looking for the misbegotten
They prey upon the weak and fractured
The crippled and the freaks of nature
And when they come upon one who's lost or is alone
Their smiles get even bigger and their noses start to glow
Making snarling sounds to pantomime with furious abandon
And with a scream they pounce to kill and all the while they're laughing
I'm the one treads upon the weaker ones
Those that I can find
And there'll always be some others who will march along in line
And, we'll move upon the world in a massive tidal wave
And we'll shout and make some noise, yeah
Shout and make some noise
Because after all, we are only boys
Because after all, we are only boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
Will be boys will be boys will be boys
The clowns of death are marching on their hideous parade
Their glaring eyes are filled with hate, but I am not afraid
Their painted faces cracked with age, their makeup old and worn
With tattered wings and toothy grins to amplify their scorn
They're looking for the helpless ones
They're looking for the misbegotten
They prey upon the weak and fractured
The crippled and the freaks of nature
Your sons and daughters, innocent, lay sleeping in their beds
They'll catch them when you're not around and smash their little heads
If you think it just a dream, or that it isn't fair
Just look around outside your door, the clowns are everywhere

Happy Father's Day
This is my tribute to my dad on father's day.
My dad is wonderful. He is so kind and loving and he is always there when you need him. He is the one I have learned the most from in my life, I have his humour, his taste in music and TV shows. I learned my love of reading from him. He is an animal lover. He loves his "neighbor" even if they don't even live next door. My favorite memory of my dad is the time when the two of us rode the bus into SLC and went to the Geneology Library together. That was fun and he took me to Crown Burger for lunch.
I truely love my dad and hope that I can be like him when I grow up.
Thanks for everything Dad. I love you.

Who knew I had seem so many movies
Ladyhawke – Two star-crossed lovers are cursed by an evil bishop the man is a wolf by night whilst his lover, takes the form of a hawk by day. They enlist the help of a page named Mouse who has to get them to the Bishop to kill them and they have to meet in their human forms to break the spell. This is an old movie, but I have loved it so.
Bed of Roses – Romantic drama about a young career girl who is swept off her feet by a shy florist, who fell in love with her after one glimpse through a shadowy window. It has been a LONG time since I saw this movie. I believe the last time I saw it was in the movie theater back in 1996. I remember it was a cute movie and I was still in love with Christian Slater at that time.
Untamed Heart – Man saves woman from rapists in park. They fall in love have good times together he tells her he has baboon heart and she still loves him. He catches a hockey puck for her and then dies. It’s a better movie then what my description gives. I enjoyed it, but again I saw this back during my Christian Slater phase.
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves –Robin Hood and Moorish friend return from the crusades and have to save Maid Marian from the Sheriff of Nottingham and free the people from his tyrannical rule. Robin builds a secret village in the haunted woods, finds his illegitimate brother and makes Marian fall in love with him. Sheriff loses. All live happily ever after.
Down to You – The gist of the story... love sought, found, lost, and found again. She fears losing her youth, committing too soon. He's worried that this may be an illusion, not true love. She sleeps with someone else; he's hurt; the relationship ruptures. She leaves for
Just Like Heaven – This movie was totally cute. Two people are set up on a blind date but never meet because she is in a car accident and is in a coma. He unknowingly moves into her apartment and her “ghost” is haunting him. They fall in love and he learns that she is still alive and that the family is going to pull the plug so he has to stop them and save her. He knows that if they could only really touch that all would be well. It was a good movie. I had to add it to my collection.
Two Weeks Notice – Woman gets job. Falls for boss. Boss is unobservant jerk. She quits he realizes that he needs her. They get married. I love Sandra Bullock. This movie was cute.
Return to Me – This movie is tragic and sad within like the first 10 minutes.... but despite that it turns out good. Man has wife. Wife dies. Organs are donated. Girl gets heart. Man finds girl. She finds out it his wife’s heart. Sadness. Then a happy ending.
The Princess Diaries – Ugly Duckling ends up as a Princess. This movie is just cute. I saw this at the drive in the night John first kissed me. :) he he (girlish giggle) Aside from that. I just really liked it. The sequel is still cute, but not as good.
Mona Lisa Smile –This movie was pretty good. Here is what someone else says it’s about: “Set in 1953, Katherine Watson is a free-spirited graduate of UCLA who accepts a teaching post at Wellesley College, a women-only school where the students are torn between the repressive morals of the time and their longing for intellectual freedom.”
Steele Magnolias – "If you can't find anything good to say about anybody, come sit by me." This movie contains love, apathy, pain, loss, secrecy and a desperate attempts at living a lives of happiness. I love this movie it’s so tragic and sad, but a great one for girl time.
Step Mom – Mom & Step mom don’t get along until mom is dying. Kids mom & step mom all come together to make a cushy feel-good happy ending even though mom dyes. Tissues required.
Pretty Woman – Prostitute falls for rich business man. Business man falls for prostitute. Business man’s friend is evil. Prostitute goes home. Business man shows up in white limo with roses and climbs her balcony and they live happily ever after.
Clueless – John loves this movie. I personally hated this movie and I will quote Ewan McGregor here because he says just what I thought “I hated Clueless with a passion. I thought it would have been a really good film if someone had blown her head off at the end with a really huge gun. I mean, this rich bitch suddenly becomes charitable and then she

Movies for Girls Everywhere
Chicago – This movie is questionable by a lot of standards, but I loved it. There are a lot of suggestive themes and it's a little racy (or so I've heard said) but I really enjoyed it. The music is great, the story is entertaining and the Lawyers tap-dance at near the end is fantastic. I'd love to own this one, but it's not one I'd want my kids to watch until they're much much older.
Beauty Shop – Another Queen Latifa movie about accomplishing your dreams.
Blast from the Past – "Poison gas!" This movie is just too funny. I loved it. A family is trapped in a bomb shelter for 30 years and when they finally send their now adult son out to see what happened to the world hilarity ensues and Brendan Fraser isn't bad to look at either.
Bedazzled – This movie is a classic in it's own right. I love it. Brendan Fraser is a loser who just wants to get the girl so he makes a deal with the Devil. Nothing works out right and he has to learn that he's okay and he needs his soul back. Love is resolved in the end and he lives happily ever after.
Mrs. Winterbourne - A woman gets pregnant, boyfriend leaves her. She boards a train, which crashes and she ends up in a hospital, mistakenly identified as Patricia Winterbourne, a who died with her husband when the train crashed. She comes to live with the rich family of her deceased "husband." She falls in love with dead husband's brother and her new life is ruined when the real father of her baby comes back It's okay it does have a happy ending. I really liked it.
While You Were Sleeping – "These mashed potatoes are so creamy" This is a must see for any movie list. Girl falls in love with man she's never met. Saves his life then is mistaken for his fiancée and get taken in by his family only to fall in love with first guys brother.
A Walk in the Clouds – I'm not a fan of Keanu Reeves but this movie was pretty good. Man meets pregnant woman on bus on her way home to help with the grape harvest and face her Old World domineering dad. The woman is not married and she thinks her father is going to kill her. Man poses as her husband to help her face her father. They fall in love trouble comes and then they must overcome all odds to be together.
Under the Tuscan Sun – While on vacation, a just-divorced writer buys a villa in Tuscany on a whim, hoping it will be the start of a change for the better in her life.
School Ties – A Jewish boy goes to an elite prep school in the 1950's and hides his religion until a jealousy forces it out in the open. This movie was pretty good. I'd recommend tissues.
The Prince and Me –American college student falls in love with one of her classmates, but what she doesn't know is that he's actually a Danish prince going incognito at an American college. He goes home to be king and she follows him. Family doesn't like her but in they end they are all happy and the should live happily ever after. The end of the movie was disappointing as she chooses college over the man but thanks to sequels they get back together in The Prince and Me II.
Dead Poets Society – "Oh, Captain, My Captain" This movie is a tear jerker. It's about a group of young men who decide to be their own people and not follow the dictates of others. The main message of this movie is that "when faced with conformity that does not distinguish between man and society, it is mans responsibility to himself to stand up for what he believes is right, and not what others tell him is just."
Swing Kids – "Swing Heil!" This is the story of a group of Swing Kids and how Nazi rule and persuasion tore them apart and set them against each other. I had liked Big Band music before seeing this movie, and after seeing this movie I loved Big Band music. Doesn't hurt that Christian Bale is in this one. :)
Dreamer – Little girl falls in love with injured horse. Father spends his time and money helping horse heal. Horse wins big race. This movie fits in to the "cute" group. I really liked the movie, my husband says it is 2 hours of his life he'll never get back.
Mr. Wrong – "Do you think I love you enough to break my finger?" Please watch While you Were Sleeping BEFORE watching this. Bill Pullman is crazy and you'll never look at him the same again. I loved this movie it was laugh out loud funny.
Only You – "Italy!? What's my wife doing in Italy?" As a young girl the main character is told she'll marry someone named Damon Bradley. She spends her life dreaming about meeting this soul mate and when a change comes to find Damon Bradley she skips out on her wedding and flies to Italy. She falls in love with Robert Downey Jr. who says he is Damon Bradley but he isn't really she's hurt that he lied but in the end they are together. This movie was cute and funny and I really liked it.
I can do it too!

And the list goes on --
Miss Potter – This is another Ewan McGregor/Renee Zellweger movie. Ewan dies halfway through the movie so that’s too bad but the rest of the movie is pretty good if you can get past the horrible acting of Renee Zellweger. Its a good story of Beatrix Potter and how she fell in love and also the story of how Peter Rabbit came to be.
Catch and Release – Jennifer Garner is a very good actress. Cute too. This is the story of a girl who was going to marry a boy but boy dies. She moves in with his room-mates and discovers secrets about him that she never knew. I enjoyed this movie. It’s not really on my top 25 chick flicks, but it was okay.
13 Going on 30 – Again a Jennifer Garner movie. All those Generation X-ers will appreciate the music in this movie. The story is fun and cute where a 13 year-old wants to be 30 Flirty and Successful instead of a awkward 13 year-old and her wish comes true only to find out the path that she wishes for her life is not what she really wants and in the end. When all is bleak she is able to wish herself back to the 80’s and do it all again but correctly this time. This movie made me laugh out loud and cry a little.
Titanic (1997) – I know that a lot of people hate this movie. I don’t. I love this movie. Not for the love story between Jack and what’s-her-name, but because of the history. I have always had a fascination with the Titanic and the stories behind the people that were on it and the ship itself.
Titanic (1953) – This movie I originally watched under my mother’s recommendation. Staring a rather young good looking Robert Wagner (he didn’t age well) Mom said she thought he was so good looking. Well, he was a cute teenage boy and he did survive the sinking of the Titanic.
Romeo & Juliet (1996) – I love this version. This is another movie where people either loved or hated it. I was impressed by the Shakespeare to modern. I love Shakespeare and I love Clare Danes so put them together and wha-la a pretty good movie.
Little Women (1994) – I love the story of Little Women. The 1994 version was my favorite featuring people like Clare Danes, Christian Bale, Susan Sarandon and Wynona Ryder. I have related to Beth March in my life many times and she is played so well by Clare Danes in this adaptation. I also like to relate to the sisters and that even though life has it’s ups and downs and sisters will always be sisters no matter what.
To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday – Poor sad husband talks to dead wife but ignores the real world and his daughter. This is a story of accepting death, still loving but moving on. I really enjoyed this movie. It's been a long time since I watched it last.
Stardust – This movie ranks up there with the Princess Bride. It will become a timeless, good, cute, romantic adventure movie. Boy loves girl, girl uses boy, boy promises to bring back falling star, finds star, star is girl boy falls in love with star. They live happily ever after ... well except for the parts with evil witches who want to kill star and the funny air pirates. I love this movie.
Love Actually – Several different love stories entwine and create a very cute movie. There is some nudity and foul language. Frankly we’re a little embarrassed that we love this movie so much, but it’s really good.
The Family Stone – Marriage. All romantic comedies somehow end up here. This is the story of people falling in and out of love and switching partners with family members. I thought it was funny and sad and funny again and worth watching.
The Holiday – Two people switch places for the Christmas holiday and they each fall in love with someone while they’re away. It’s cute.
Last Holiday – This movie was funny. I love Queen Latifa she is awesome. She is told that she is going to die so she takes all her money and takes a “last holiday” and finds out about herself and her dreams and in the end she doesn’t die and her life dreams come true.
Somewhere in Time – this movie is very dated and rather depressing but it should be watched at least once in persons life for that whole romantic tragedy bit.

Oh The Movies I have seen –
I Am Legend – This movie wasn’t so bad, but it wasn’t so good either. I liked the premise of it but as a whole it just kind of left me wanting something more. But at the same time it also gave me another reason to avoid the dark. It also brought up the question of why is every horrible disaster always on the island of Manhattan. Every movie that has a disaster is always set on that island. Good thing it’s so easy to cut the island off from the rest of the world so horrible things don’t spread…. Even though they do anyway.
Cloverfield – This movie was recommended to me by my older brother, he said it was good and a little scary … well I didn’t so much. It’s about a couple of friends who get stuck in the middle of a monster or alien attack in none other than Manhattan. It just never really cleared that up. And the one guy loves a girl that he let go and instead of evacuating the city like he should have he went back for her. Now it’s nice that he went back for her, but I think I’m selfish in that I would leave and preserve my own life. I informed John that if this is ever a situation that we are in he has permission to evacuate the city and then die of despair later. I’d be happier knowing he was out to safety before I died then to have him killed trying to save me.
The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian – This movie was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I have come to love the stories of Narnia and the adventures of the Pevinsie children. This installment of the Chronicles of Narnia was so sad and yet helped to lift ones spirits in knowing that good can overcome evil and we are never really alone. John mocked me at the end of the movie because it made me cry, but when you take into account that in the world of Narnia Aslan is the Christ figure it reminded me that the Savior is there, we just have to look for Him and ask Him for help. Had the children been willing to seek Aslan’s help then they would have been able to do so much. Thus in our own lives, if we seek the guidance of the Savior we too shall not go astray. It is also rather sad knowing that at the end of the book/movie that Susan and Peter shall never return to Narnia since it is time for them to grow up. (another reason why I also find Peter Pan to be depressing)
Indiana Jones: Legend of the Chrystal Skull – or whatever the movie was called. This movie I liked, but not a whole lot. It wasn’t really as good as I expected it to be, and honestly who ever thought that Indiana Jones would be dealing with Aliens. Ugh! I had wanted it to be so good but it fell short of expectations. This was not an Indiana Jones movie… it was a movie that just happened to have Indiana Jones in it.
StarGate SG-1: Season 4 – We have enjoyed watching StarGate so much, who knew. It was cool to see how story lines were being set up for future seasons and where some of the characters came from that we didn’t know the origins of before.
StarGate SG-1: Season 5 – Can we say disjoined and depressing? Again, another awesome season of StarGate. However there are several episodes in season 5 that have no resolution. That was a little disappointing. Also, at the end of this season Daniel Jackson dies… well he doesn’t really die, he is assended and will be gone for a season. He was saving the life of Jonas Quin who if you’ll remember is played by Corin Nemic of Parker Lewis Can’t Lose. Daniel exposed himself to high levels of radiation and died a slow horrible death only to be saved by Oma in the end.
StarGate: The Movie – This was amusing to watch. We hadn’t seen it in a long time so after watching so many seasons of the TV show it was nostalgic to see it again. Funny thing was that the whole time we were watching the movie each of us were thinking where is this character. Why don’t they use this. Who’s that guy … blah blah blah. The TV show is so much better then the movie, but when the movie first came out it was awesome.
Samurai X: Betrayal – This was a love story involving Kenshin and Tomo. He the assassin and she the depressed betrothed of a man Kenshin had killed. They are forced into hiding and in doing so they pose as husband and wife and live happily together until there is betrayal and Kenshin is forced to take up his sword and go kill someone. Tomo throws herself in the middle of the battle and is killed by Kenshin’s own hands and he vows that once the war is over he shall never kill another. This was sad, but a good back story for Kenshin.
Samurai X: Reflections – So sad. This is the story of Karu and Kenshin’s life together after they are married. Kenshin is in China and Karu is waiting for him. They are both dying from something that was never made quite clear and between Yahiko, Sanoske and Kenji(their son,) Kenshin and Karu are brought back together and Kenshin dies in her arms beneath the cherry blossoms. I had fallen so in love with this silly fictional character that I cried when he died. It was SO depressing. “Reflections” basicly goes over their entire life together and touches on many of the episodes that are in the Rurouni Kenshin series.
Samurai X: The Motion Picture – This is a continuation of the Rurouni Kenshin Series. Kenshin, Karu, Yahiko and Sanoske again have to save Japan for evil. This really threw me off though because the voices changed from the TV series to the movie so it was a little disappointing. Oh well, we did enjoy it anyway.

A Weekend with Kids
John and I just spent the last 3 days with a 6 year-old, an 8 year-old and a 16 year-old .... It was ... Fun.
Really, it wasn't so bad, our good friends went to Disneyland for their 18th anniversary and so we got to hang out with the children. We had a blast (minus the annoying parts).
We took the kids out to the Dinosaur park in Ogden on Saturday. It was awesome. I had never been there before, and personally, I think Dinosaurs are awesome! I'll have to go back one day without them and spend some extra time in the museum.
And we introduced them to the joy of the Wii ... :)
So we're back in our own home now, and our own bed (thank goodness) but the weekend was really fun.
