do you believe in life after love?

I didn't think I was a Cher fan until we sat and watched the Farewell Concert on TV one night back in 2003. Then I NEEDED to purchase this album. (it was a must, must!)

  1. Believe
  2. If I Could Turn Back Time
  3. Heart Of Stone
  4. Just Like Jesse James
  5. Save Up All Your Tears
  6. After All (Love Theme From Chances Are - Duet With Peter Cetera
  7. I Found Someone
  8. One By One (Junior Vasquez Vocal Edit)
  9. Strong Enough
  10. All Or Nothing
  11. Song For The Lonely
  12. Take Me Home
  13. The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)
  14. All I Really Want To Do
  15. Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)
  16. Half Breed
  17. Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves
  18. Dark Lady
  19. The Beat Goes On - Sonny & Cher
  20. I Got You Babe - Sonny & Cher
  21. A Different Kind Of Love Song (Rodney Jerkins main mix (faster))
It was amazing to me that so many song that I had loved but never really cared to know the artist all belonged to Cher. I was looking at the track listings to see what a few of my favorite songs were to highlight here, but I realize, that I have listened to this album so much that they are all my favorite songs. But if I had to choose... I'll make a Top 5 list.

5. After All
4. If I could Turn Back Time
3. Believe
2. Strong Enough
1. Song for the Lonely

wow, that list was hard to choose, I was almost going to add some honorable mentions, but I thought that would just be absurd since I just said that they are all my favorites. I will say, that the song on this album that gets stuck in my head the most is "Gypsies, Tramps, & Thieves" which is rather annoying at times (I have also discovered that I love the Lisa Loeb version of Gypsies Tramps & Thieves, but Lisa is just so cute how can you not like her music.) I absolutely recommend this album to those looking for some good music. Cher really is pretty awesome.

well.... it's January 16th @ 10:16 am

as of right now I have not heard anything from Jack Harris Auto Body regarding the car that they told us we should have back by last Saturday or Monday 1/14 at the latest.. . So as of right now it looks like Nip is not going to win the prize for being the only one who voted yes on my poll.

Cars Suck

I was asked the following questions today and realized that I have failed to fill people in so here you go:

"Did you finally get your car back?  Is the insurance going to reimburse you for the rental plus fees?"

No, I don't have my car back. John talked to the shop on friday and they said the car was done, but they had to do the final once over and they'd call us when we could pick it up. . . hasn't happened yet.

Yes, the insurance company is reimbursing us for all the money that was stripped from our poor broke hands. This whole thing is jacked up if you ask me. I'm so sick of State Farm & Enterprise! I hope that I never get in an accident again and have to deal with all this crud. I'm tired of it. Next time I just want them to total it out and let me have a new car that way all of this crap could have been settled 54 days sooner.

Thank you, Drive thru, Meow Meow.

ARRRGH!!

What is worse then finding that the rental car company has charge you $50.08 for a rental car State Farm is supposed to be paying for?

How about another $400.00 charge plus another $100.00 worth of over draft fees two days later AFTER we had already contacted the insurance company for the first charge!?!

I'm Mad! John's Mad! Bonnie in the State Farm Claims Department is MAD!

This is going to screw us over royally.

Sure, I get paid today, but that will only cover all the charges and overdrafts what am I supposed to do about all the bills that come out of my account next week? this is all fine and dandy while State Farm issues us a check for all this. How am I supposed to buy gas for my car? I guess it's a good thing we didn't come to work yesterday, it saved us some gas money.....

This is going to end up costing the insurance Company A LOT of money.

AHAHHHHHHHAHAHAHHAHAHA HA HA HA!!!!
(frustrated laugh)

Now everyone, it's swearing time with Liz please join in the fun:

@&*(@#$&83&*%#(&@%! @)#*@*($(#$&(@!)@!  (&@$UERFI#) &*#(@(*@!#!@$#!!! EI@($*(*!@$*(@#EIR(#$*JRI!!

Roar!

2006 Ford Focus, Anyone?

Well, Happy Birthday to Me!
(maybe)

We got a call from Jack Harris Auto Body yesterday. The car is almost done. They had it all ready to go to paint when they got inside to test everything out and SURPRISE! the passenger side seatbelt was broken. I could have told them that 51 days ago. They had to order that part.

SO  ...

They say I might have my car back by the end of the week. This week? I asked John, and he said yes.
We'll see. I wont hold my breath, but that would be a very nice birthday present.

car curiosity

Many have asked about the Focus in the past few weeks since I haven't posted an update.

Well....

John talked to the shop yesterday. when he talked to them 2 weeks ago they were "just starting on it and it should be ready by January 5th." But yesterday when he called it's still not even close to being done. For starters when they got the car pulled apart SURPRISE! they found more damage then originally estimated. So they had to order more parts for the car. Then we have the unlucky opportunity of having 3 holidays since the accident. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years... so that cut into the fix it time.

As of now we're looking at the car not being done until the 16th of January. However, John has given a wide estimate of perhaps having it back by the end of the month, but then that falls into ANOTHER holiday of MLK, Jr. Day on the 21st.

So that is $540 dollars of car payments, $230 of insurance payments, and $188 to register a car that I can't even drive.
The upside?? well we haven't put any miles on our new tires....

My Car....

6 Weeks ago when I took my car to the shop they said 2-3 weeks... when I called them 2 weeks later they said it would be another 2 weeks and AGAIN when I called them 2 weeks later "You're car wont be ready until January"

Is it just me and my female point of view but when someone gives me an estimate of when something will be done I expect that it will be done in that amount of time.

Is that really to much to ask?

Thursday, December 6, 2007

This was taken 11.19.07 the day before the accident. Perhaps it was a premanition that I wasn't going to see it for a while.

oh, and by the way ...

In answer to how are things with the car?

The car is good. We get to keep it. It is being fixed. The insurance company has decided that the accident is not our fault so we are not going to have to pay the $500 deductible. If they had said it was our fault we really would have been calling a lawyer.

So all in all things with the car are good, so far.

It will take 2-3 weeks to fix it, and the insurance company will only pay for our car until the 14th of December after that we'll have to pay for it ourselves. I think we should be able to keep the car until our car is fixed and we'll probably be battling the insurance company over this next week.

The saga continues....

Monday

We went to the dentist today, and not to work. No cavities. Then we went out to breakfast at ihop. After that we went to Jack Harris Auto Body to sign release forms for them to fix our car. Then we went to the movie theater but the movie we wanted to see didn't start until 2:05 pm and it was only 11:00 am. So we came home and I made husband take a nap because he was grumpy and tired and he said his head and back ached. so I wasn't going to make him do anything. When we woke up 3 hours later it was to late to go to the move so we got a pizza from Papa Murphy's and ate that for dinner. it's now 7 pm and it's too late to go see a movie on a work night and it's monday night Heroes night so we can't go anywhere anyways. Unless we decide to go to my brother's to watch it on his giant TV, but I don't think we will because husband is in a REALLY bad mood for some reason. Oh well.
The good news for the day is that the insurance company called us earlier and let us know that they decided that the accident wasn't our fault. Isn't that nice of them.
This is all for today. I'm tired and kind of grumpy too. I think I'm going to bed early.
The End.

Friday -

I woke up with a terrible migraine this morning and called in sick to work. I've had a stress headache all week (surprise!) and know that this was coming, it was just a matter of when.
I slept in until noon and laid in bed until 1:00 by then I decided I should get up and do something. I turned on the computer, made Teriyaki Sauce for some chicken for dinner and then I got online. I'm thinking about making some cookies for John just to be nice, but I haven't gotten that far yet.
I should probably call the insurance company to see if they have decided who is at fault (even though WE ARE NOT) and if they expect me to pay the $500 to get my car back. I think if they do then I will seriously look into getting a lawyer because I don't think we should be found at fault because we were the ones who were at a dead stop and were hit from behind. I hate insurance companies.
But the good news is they are going to fix my car this time instead of totalling it out. I don't get a new car for Christmas, but I wont have my old car until Christmas either.
anyway, here is my Teriyaki Recipe if anyone wants to try it. It really is pretty good.

Teriyaki Sauce

¼ cup Vegetable Oil
¼ cup Soy Sauce
2 Tbl Katsup or BBQ Sauce (I prefer the BBQ sauce)
1 Tbl White Vinegar
¼ tsp Pepper
2 Cloves Garlic or ½ tsp of Garlic Powder

Mix together.
Add Chicken, cover and marinade in the fridge for at least an hour.
Cook chicken in sauce for 30 minutes until cooked through.
Serve with rice and stir-fry veggies.

I make the sauce and marinade the chicken all in the same pan I’m going to cook them in. it saves you a few dishes. :)

My knee today

It is not still swollen the goose egg that was there has gone down as well. I just have a scab on the front of my knee cap and each time I bend my knee I get that horrible ripping the scab off feeling. It feels bruised, but there is no visible bruising. Over all it's just an ache that doesn't go away.

Nice...

My blog has turned into my angry note keeping journal.
Never fear, I'll go back to my useless thought's in a little while,
I just have to battle this most recent bout of depression I find it very hard to write when depressed…

Speaking of depression I think that's one more thing I could add to a lawsuit if I decided to file, but this one would be against the guy who hit us AND State Farm because they aren't helping at all.

Here is my list of reasons to sue so far:

Distracted Driving.
Ruining my Thanksgiving Vacation.
Smashing the only car I own.
Undue Stress.
The New Tires I put on last month.
Last weeks car payment and Oil change.
Ruining my holiday season.
Pain and Suffering.
Defacing my cute knee.
AND …
Depression.

The Car again....

12:45 pm

Called the shop.
Damage to the car has totaled up to $4,300.00 so far,
and the shop was okayed by the insurance company to do the repairs.

Now the trouble is this is going to take 2-3 weeks to repair and the insurance company will only pay for the rental car until 12/14 (24 days or $600) … after that we have to pay out of pocket for the rental car. This whole situation just makes me really angry.

Then there is the fact that State Farm hasn't determined who actually caused the accident (partly because the idiot that hit us hasn't informed the insurance company) so if for some stupid reason fault is put on us (even though we were the car smashed in the middle) then we have to pay the $500.00 deductible with money that we don't have.

I hate this.

My poor left knee

I think there is an invisible bulls eye on my hurt knee.

It seems that everything I do has somehow caused something to hit my knee.
To start with there is all the accidental bumping and touching by my husband and the horrible weight of pants and the blankets on my bed.

Then yesterday it was the truck and several impacts at work with my chair and filing cabinets.
Today I went to Subway for lunch and some idiot parked to close to me so I had to squeeze back into my little car so while I was trying not to hit the car next to me with the door of my rental and squeezing in at the same time the door popped back and smacked my knee. WHACK! And again it is very hard to drive with tears welling up in your eyes.

I don't think I have ever hurt my knee this badly or had such continued pain….. Not even when I fell down Buffalo Peak at youth conference one year and bruised the cartilage in my knee and my parents drove me to the emergency room because it hurt so bad. This is much worse.

It seems that the pain spreads when I hit it last night it was the side of my knee, and today it's like shin splints down my leg. Not to mention the constant burning/throbbing pain that is my knee since the car accident.

Ow ow ow ow ow…..

The Car

10:00 am

Called the shop.
My car is not finished being estimated.
They'll call this afternoon.

Per your Request -

The new rental is a 2007 Hyundai Elantra.
It's not a bad little car. I've been told it gets about 40 mpg highway.
It does have two problems though:

1) It does not play MP3 CD's
2) No trunk space

It drives really well, and the breaks are a little touchy but that's okay. Over all I'm glad we traded for it. The truck was nice and all, but I couldn't get in and out of the passenger side with my knee hurting like it does and on the drivers side I felt like the steering wheel was in my lap and then to top it all off yesterday when I was getting in the car I whacked my knee on the steering column of the truck causing me great pain and it is very hard to drive a truck when you are crying because of pain but somehow I managed. When I was finally able to get home and look at my knee I have a nice black bruise added to the scab that's already there and this morning it hurts like crazy... but at least today I brought my Loratab with me to work.
