hmmm...
Can anyone tell that I am VERY bored today . . .
it's not that I don't have work to do I'm just lacking a great desire to do it.
So sending emails to my blog at least makes me look busy without making me look like I'm playing on my blog. :) Being able to email posts has been a great invention.
he he he
I've got a case of the fridays. It's almost worse then the mondays.

Why!? Why?! Why!?
Why is Hilda the first person I have to deal with on a Monday morning!? She is a horrid woman without whom I could have lived my entire existence without ever knowing and been content and happy. Arrrgh!
This morning I'm an idiot because I can't read her mind, and cannot decipher her code that apparently only she knows the key to.
Then she is again harping on an issue that we had a "meeting" about last month where it was clearly stated that applications must go through BOTH committees and I only have the power to approve for Oklahoma and someone else has to approve for Coventry National.
Not only is approving files for Coventry National not my job, it's against the law for me to do it because I wasn't a part of the approval committee therefore it would amount to falsifying records.

Send the "RUSH!" files to Liz
Some days I get very tired of being on my manager's "Competent" list.
I am now working on the second rush file I have been assigned since yesterday.

If I thought she couldn't get any more frustrating...
So my "friend" Hilda in our Oklahoma office has really been on one this morning. She has been out of the office sporadically for the past 2 weeks and now, suddenly all of her problems are my fault. Amazing how that works out isn't it. Every application I have gotten from her in the last week has had one problem or another that I KNOW is a problem, but apparently I'm wrong. Again, my 5 previous years of credentialing experience mean nothing?

Work Woes
So I am the Plan Lead for CHC of Oklahoma. I specifically work with a woman who we’ll call “Hilda”.
Hilda is truly coming off as a horrible person all the way around. On the phone she sounds all sweet and friendly, but in her emails and other correspondence she sounds so bitter and disgruntled and I don’t know if it’s just the email that makes her sound that way, or if she really is just that bad.
Lately she has taken to emailing my manager instead of me like my manager has the time to baby-sit me and my apparent failure to keep track of my own files. Or my lack of credentialing knowledge. It’s not like I have worked in this field for the last 5 years or that the job I came from was a million times more detailed and more difficult then this job is.
Nice that she just goes over my head and bothers the management like I am and incompetent fool who can’t count to 20 with my shoes on. ARRGH! She makes me so angry.
It’s been so bad that the Manager of Operations here at the CVC got fed up with Hilda’s over my head emails that she emailed the Oklahoma Manager stating:
“I have observed that there really seems to be a lot of conflict involved with Hilda. She has certainly NOT been the most consistent or accurate person we have dealt with for OK. Her constant attacks on Liz seem unwarranted. Truthfully, Hilda needs to get a better understanding of her role before attacking Liz. Liz might be new, but she knows her job as well as Hilda knows hers.”
I’m not a horrible person. I just can’t stand working with this woman.
Do I just invoke anger in people? Is my aura causing others to react angrily with me? Am I provoking all the evil that comes my way??
Like I had said to someone yesterday: I think that Heavenly Father is trying to teach me patience and love for my fellow man, but it's really hard when I hate everyone.

The People I Work With
Coventry is lonely. My supervisor who came from CHG with me sits a row of cubicles away from me and I'm lucky if i see her once a day and Candy the other lady from CHG sits a row of cubicles away from me in the other direction. I don't know anyone and it's hard to know anyone because of the 5' walls that separate us all. But on the other ha
nd i don't know that i want to know anyone here.
There is this guy who used to sit behind me who would sit in his cubie and fart all day like no one could hear or smell him. yuck. but he's moved now so i don't have to put up with that anymore he's someone else's problem now.
And then all the ladies here are either grossly obese terribly pathetic women and there are a few that fit into the pathetic "Cat Lady" category, or we have the super skinny and super stuck on themselves clique and I just love that.... one girl sit's around at other peoples desks and talks ALL day and doesn't ever do her own work, where I have been working for just over two months and am up among the top producers and she has been here for a year and is still in training mode (granted she was the file clerk up until May but still....) oy!
So that's life here.
I miss Jerald and Connie :(

Bad for my ego?
So I think working at Coventry will be bad for my ego.
Why you may ask? Well....
In my first two weeks I was told that I am competent enough to learn the computer system by my self.
By my third week I was asked to take over the state of Oklahoma Coventry Health Plan because “out of everyone here you’re the most qualified.”
By the end of my first month I received a “Thumbs Up!” from my manager (a piece of paper for my cubie wall) stating that it was for “The great attitude, effort and willingness to make things run smoothly. Thanks for all you do to help. Good work never goes unnoticed.”
Today I had a one-on-on with my manager and my review involved the words “awesome” and “enthusiasm and vigor”
and then to rub it all in:
“With minimal instruction or training she jumped right in”
“She has proven to the rest of the team that metrics are more then attainable.”
“Liz is a great example to her peers and her attitude and ability have been refreshing.”
They love me here.
I was actually accused of “Smiling to much” the other day. WOW. Imagine that Liz smiling to much. When Lisa (my manager) tried telling them that at CompHealth I was usually considered the grumpy one they all laughed and thought that she was kidding.
Boy, do I have these people fooled.
Honestly though, I love my job. It’s been a breeze and I have really enjoyed my time here. Lets just hope it stays this way. :)

On The Clock
So, here I am at my new job. I like it so far. It has been a breeze working here compared to working at CHG. I have twice the work to do, but I only have to put in half the effort. In case you don’t know what I do, I am a Credentialing Specialist. I check the background, Licensing, Education, Insurance, and Disciplinary actions on Medical Providers including, but not limited to MD/DO, PT, OT, DPM, OD, DC, DMD, MFT, LPC, RN, LPN and NP’s. If you don’t know what those all mean that’s okay just know that they are all medical professionals that you may or may not see in your life that all need to be Credentialed.
On a daily basis I run NPDB’s, OPM/GSA’s, Board Certifications, Current State Licenses and DEA’s. I review Current Hospital Privileges, Highest level of Medical Training/Professional Training, Liability Insurance, Work History and Disciplinary Actions.
That is what I do at my job now... at my old job you could add obtaining: ECFMG’s, FSMB’s, OIG’s, ALL State Licenses, ALL Hospital Privileges past and present, ALL Education, ALL Claims History for Liability Insurance, Primary Source verify Work History... etc, etc.
Wow, that makes me sound like a busy girl. No wonder I am so tired when I get home from work every day.
